Fundamentals Course for Powerlifting and Weightlifting

In this course, we will go in-depth about the correct and safe use of the barbell for Powerlifting (Back Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift) or Weightlifting (Snatch, Clean, and Jerk). This course will give you more confidence with barbell exercises, understanding accessory exercises, and mobility work needed to execute each lift properly.


Each barbell fundamentals course is LIMITED to five (5) lifters. We are looking for five (5) beginner lifters in powerlifting and five (5) beginner lifters in weightlifting, Each group of five (5) must be available for all four classes. Classes can not transfer to another lifter. Classes are for students only. No spectators or refunds allowed.

·     have been training for 6 months or less

·     are available each Sunday in January from 1:00 - 3:00 pm 

·     have never competed in powerlifting or weightlifting

·     never had a powerlifting or weightlifting coach

·     are over 8 years old

Are you interested in Weightlifting or Powerlifting? 

Weightlifting

Day 1: Introduction to Weightlifting theory and methodology then Snatch progressions to help you safely execute a Snatch from the floor. 

Day 2: Review Snatches then go over the Clean progressions to help you safely execute a Clean from the floor.

Day 3: Jerk progressions in detail to help you properly and safely execute the Jerk.

Day 4: Review Snatch, Clean, and Jerk, then Weightlifting programming, accessory work, and competition prep.

Powerlifting

Day 1: Introduction to Powerlifting, Back Squat technique, Hi Bar vs Low Bar, and 2-3 accessory exercises for each individuals' needs to improve squats then mobility work.

Day 2: Bench Press technique, accessory, and mobility exercises to improve the bench press.

Day 3: Conventional and Sumo Deadlift, accessory work and mobility exercises to improve the sumo and conventional deadlift.

Day 4: SBD Day. Review of Squat, Bench, Deadlift, mobility and remaining time for Q&As.
