Rules and Drug Testing

USA Powerlifting allows the following in raw lifting: singlet, belt, wrist wraps, and knee sleeves. Knee wraps are not allowed in raw competition.

You are responsible for knowing the USA Powerlifting Rules (including the new 2019 rules and the updated apparel policy on page 22 of the rulebook) before competing. Please read the rules. A USA Powerlifting membership is required and must be purchased before the meet.

Drug testing will be conducted to 10% of the lifters. If you are selected for drug testing and leave before being tested, any awards you may have received will be forfeited. Be sure to take responsibility for what goes into your body. There are many supplements/drugs that are legal to buy but are not legal to take if you compete in USAPL competitions. Parking, Equipment and More

Please inform your guests and coach of the parking situation in advance. Validus is in the Kearny Plaza at 8199 Clairemont Mesa Blvd Ste B, San Diego, CA 92111. If you look for DAISO and Yesenia’s Mexican Restaurant in the east corner of the Kearny Plaza you will see Validus in between those two. Parking shouldn't be too bad for both AM sessions. The parking lot for the Saturday PM session may be packed. If the parking lot is packed, look for street parking on Clairemont Mesa Blvd.

The colder sac and parking lots south of Validus (see Ronson Ct. on a google map) is also a straight shot to the gym. Just walk up a small dirt hill from that parking lot, walk around Daiso and enter Validus at the front door for check-in. Do not enter Validus from the back door.
